Team Reflection
We are really happy, proud and fulfilled to have picked Sambito as our company. Its innovations and work towards saving the world are astonishing and something to really take into account when considering a line of work or in our case as a company to tell a story about. We learned how important it is to keep innovating within our means in order to make the world a better place, of course all of us realized that there are many complications in every business and it is hard to make thing happen but we were able to communicate even though we have many other tasks to do and we live in different time zones.Seginus taught us that it is very possible to start making a change and even be successful while doing it.
Moving on to our own performance, we are very satisfied with our story, interview, poster and communication. As mentioned before it was a challenge to communicate with everyone because of the hour difference but we still managed to do a remarkable job. Everyone contributed with their own skills and tried to make each other’s tasks easier when possible. We hope the universities keep collaborating together for the years to come because it was really fulfilling and enlightening to every one of us.
Individual Reflections
Enhle Langa
As a member of this team, participating in a project focused on a company addressing the Sustainable Development Goals was both challenging and rewarding. Engaging in a virtual, cross-cultural setting allowed me to experience firsthand the intricacies of global collaboration. The diverse perspectives within our team enriched our discussions, as each member brought unique insights shaped by their cultural backgrounds. Adapting to different individuals from different countries was initially challenging; however, I quickly learned the importance of active listening and empathy. These qualities became essential in ensuring that all team members felt understood and respected, regardless of cultural nuances. Additionally, working across multiple time zones required us to be flexible and considerate, as scheduling meetings needed coordination and compromise. To navigate these challenges, we leveraged a communication tool and platform, establishing a clear channel through a group chat and regular check-ins that contributed to our team’s success. Ultimately, this project helped me develop greater cultural awareness, adaptability, and collaborative skills, which I found invaluable in a global teamwork setting.
Wayne Maluka
Participating in this virtual team project was a wonderful experience and I will remain grateful for this opportunity. Initially, I was anxious about the cross-cultural dynamics and communication challenges which turned out opposite to what I had expected. Through the open communication and active listening amongst the team members, we all successfully sailed our ways through these obstacles. I appreciate the various information and insights put forward by each team member. The management of different time zones required us to be flexible, of which we tried our level best to meet and the shared dedication towards the project kept us motivated and focused. This experience has taught me the value of being flexible and consistent communication and mostly to inquire where there’s something I don’t understand in a global team setting.

While doing this interuniversity project I learned various things that I know will be very useful for the future. The first and most important thing I think was learning about innovations and the process it takes to do it, moreover I was really surprised to come to the realization of how amazing it is to help the environment and the many ways to do it. Secondly, I appreciate the fact that I was able to communicate and collaborate with different students all around the world. Thirdly, in the process of working in this project I think it was a great opportunity for me to learn more about the sustainable goals, especially the SDG #12 (responsible consumption and production) and SDG #13 (Climate Action) that are part of Sambito and Seginus. Nonetheless, there were some communications issues and it was sometimes hard to try and connect to everyone at the same moment because of the time zone differences. Finally, I am proud of this group because I know each one of us did an amazing and very solid work. I am grateful and satisfied that Sambito’s innovation will be known to a larger group.
Enrique Weisson
I’m very pleased with how this project progressed and how it came to an end. I’m very happy with the work I did as well as the work my teammates did. Getting to know each other and make new contacts from all around the world is something that I liked a lot about this. Also, getting to interview someone as important in the latin american sustainability scene as Gustavo Manrique was an honor and to learn from his company and his projects was a very enriching experience. I thank my teammates for all the work done and the teachers for this opportunity.
Nayla Rasti
I´m very happy with the outcome of this project, as we all put in a great amount of effort to create an interesting and inspiring story that reflects the necessities of working for the SDGs as well as giving attention to the people that are putting in the work to save the environment. I, being in charge of making the poster, wanted to have an appealing idea that displays the most important things about the company and, as the whole team concluded, we think it was a great job. To conclude, I´m grateful of being a part of this project and this group.
