Team Reflection
Our group embarked on a remarkable journey of inspiration while looking into the AIM2flourish stories. Through these stories we discovered innovative solutions and impactful initiatives that were all aimed at promoting sustainability in the modern world. Our main focus was the Sustainable Development Goal 2 which is Zero Hunger. As we were looking into the various AIM2flourish stories, we were amazed by the different approaches the business owners took to achieve sustainability regardless of the challenges they might have faced.
A perfect example would be the story ‘Plantible Foods’. It is an innovative company based out of San Diego that aims to change the food industry by developing a climate-friendly plant-based protein. They use a flowering plant called lemna which is very high in protein and grown in mass quantities in their sensitive aquafarms. The innovators aim at revolutionizing the food industry by creating the world’s best protein which in our opinion seems like a dream that will eventually turn into reality.
It promotes sustainability as they manage to achieve their goals with very little carbon dioxide emissions which is the leading factor to the climate change crisis. We definitely felt that we had gained more insight from the innovation than the basic knowledge we had gathered throughout the years. We were a bit taken aback by the different stories we encountered as our assumptions of what businesses should normally do did not apply into different situations mainly because of the location and the resources available.
We all agree that exploring the AIM2flourish stories will have an impact on how we act in the future. We realize that the world is changing daily and a lot is being done to try and make it a better place for all of us. These stories serve as a beacon of hope that we can build a world where everyone has access to better opportunities.
Our approach as a team was guided by the principles of community engagement. Each member brought their experiences from their respective countries bringing about diverse perspectives on the situations we face on a day to day basis. We found it easier to share the work equally by assigning each other tasks through the online meetings we carried out. It made the whole process enjoyable as it was one of the times we would get to interact with each other fully, this is what we succeeded as a team.
But of course there is something we did not succeed in, which is our ability to conduct all the meetings in the presence of all members, this was difficult for us because of the different times and because of the preoccupation of some and the lack of the right time for them.
Moving forward, we are committed to promoting sustainability and the social responsibility of making the world a better place for all of us.

Mate
I have found my journey into SDG 2 to be immensely fulfilling over the past few weeks. My eyes have been opened to the tremendous significance of sustainable agriculture and food security for our common future. I now have a profound understanding of the importance of spreading awareness of this objective. Furthermore, I’ve come to understand the critical importance of working with people from different backgrounds and places, as well as the necessity of customized strategies given the differences in societal and economic structures. Venturing into learning about the businesses aimed at tackling these issues has highlighted the critical role that innovation and entrepreneurship play in sustainable development, and it has had a long-lasting impression on me. All things considered, these past few weeks have helped me learn a lot about SDG 2 and broadened my perspective.
