Manufactured Ecosystems grew out of scholarship and inquiry over a three-year period—a team of researchers, artists, writers, and graduate students working together to explore what the future of ecosystem service supports might look like, and how we could imagine a creative and technological response to the Anthropocene and the growing climate crisis. We are very grateful for the group’s combined efforts to explore and imagine together.

This project was made possible by the generous funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) through the New Frontiers in Research Fund.

We also wish to especially thank Shoshanah Jacobs, who was our sun and our sky, and Elizabeth Porter, who was our earth and our ocean. Thank you for creating meaningful space for artists and writers to participate in research creation with you.
