13 Farmer Bethany Klapwyk

Wow that was a lot of interesting information!!

Thank you Farmer Bethany.

So let’s explain a bit more about what Farmer Bethany does on her farm….

As farmer Bethany explained she uses a tool called a

This is what a broadfork looks like…

Farmer Bethany uses the to make holes in the dirt which makes it easier for water and helpful insects to get into the ground.

In order to use the broadfork Farmer Bethany places it into the soil and them jumps on the bar pushing the points of the fork into the ground.
The points of the fork create holes in the dirt and these little holes let water get into the ground which plants need to grow. The holes also help to create tunnels for helpful bugs such as earthworms to keep the soil healthy for the plants to grow.

A broadfork is just like a giant fork you use to eat your dinner, or poke holes in your mashed potatoes.
