What do you think of Japanese painter Tetsuya Ishida’s fantastical portray of ordinary Japanese life? Ishida’s astute observations of Japanese culture critique of society’s expectations of young people. His paintings focus on Japanese workplace and academic (educational) pressures and related structures of power and social conditions. This search for identity depicts the social dislocations of today’s young people. Other works focus on the struggle to adapt to social and technological changes in contemporary life.
